ISRO Launches Three Satellites On PSLV-C52 In First Mission Of 2022
The Indian Space Research Organisation's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C52 put three satellites into orbit on Monday.
PSLV-C52 lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 5.59 am marking ISRO's first mission of 2022.
The rocket put three satellites into orbit — the ISRO's Earth Observation Satellite EOS-04, a student satellite (INSPIREsat-1) from Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) and University of Colorado, Boulder, and a technology demonstrator satellite (INS-2TD).
Conceptualised at Bengaluru's U R Rao Satellite Centre, EOS-04 is a Radar Imaging Satellite which can provide high quality images under all weather conditions for use in agriculture, forestry & plantations, soil moisture & hydrology and flood mapping.
PSLV-C52/EOS-04 Mission is ISRO's first of 19 planned missions in 2022 which also includes the much anticipated Chandrayaan-3 mission and the uncrewed-Gaganyaan mission.
