New Epstein Photos Surface As DOJ Transparency Deadline Approaches
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released over 60 photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. The images were shared without detailed context, with some faces and information redacted.
The release is linked to the Epstein files, a collection of documents detailing Epstein’s criminal activities and alleged links to powerful individuals, used as evidence in multiple criminal investigations.
The photos include foreign women’s passports, maps, and Epstein pictured with several women. Some images show quotes from Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita written on a woman’s body.
A screenshot of a text message discussing sending girls, including the line “I will send u girls now,” is also included.
Several images highlight Epstein’s links with powerful figures, including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates (pictured with women whose faces are redacted), Noam Chomsky, Steve Bannon, Woody Allen, Sergey Brin, former YouTube CEO Salar Kamangar, and New York Times columnist David Brooks.
Republicans accuse Democrats of selectively releasing images to push a political narrative. The release comes ahead of a US Justice Department deadline of December 19 (US time) to make Epstein investigation files public. The disclosure is required under a bipartisan law signed by President Donald Trump last month.
Epstein survivors told CNN that the piecemeal release is distressing and retraumatising. The committee says more documents and images from the estate are still under review.
