A glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on February 7 has caused an avalanche and flooding of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers.
Initial reports say the flood has damaged National Thermal Power Corporation nearby. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Vikram Rawat has tweeted that there are chances of damage to the Rishiganga project in Raini.
Over 150 labourers working at the Rishiganga power project, which was hit by floods, are missing, SDRF DIG Ridhim Aggarwal told PTI. "Representatives of the power project have told me that they are not being able to contact around 150 of their workmen at the project site," she said.
