Modi Urges Fuel Conservation, WFH to Offset Impact of West Asia Crisis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Indians to use fuel sparingly and opt for work from home (WFH) where possible to support the economy.
His remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, after Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposal on its uranium stockpile, pushing oil prices to $105 a barrel.
At a BJP event in Hyderabad, Modi flagged rising fuel costs and called for saving foreign exchange “by any means,” including cutting non-essential spending and increasing use of public transport, EVs, and WFH.
“We must make efforts to use only as much as is needed to save foreign currency and reduce the adverse effects of war crises,” he said.
