Dharmendra Recovering in Hospital, Family Urges Media to Stop False Reports

Veteran actor Dharmendra, 89, is stable and recovering at a Mumbai hospital, his daughter Esha Deol confirmed on November 11. She urged the media to stop spreading false reports and asked for privacy for the family.

Esha took to Instagram to write, “The media seems to be in over-drive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery.”

Actor-politician Hema Malini criticised the media for spreading what she called irresponsible and disrespectful reports. “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering?” she posted on X.

The Breach Candy Hospital, where Dharmendra has been admitted for several days, declined to share medical details, stating, “We cannot disclose anything. Please contact the family.” The hospital confirmed he remains under observation, according to a report by The Hindu.

Earlier, confusion on social media led several public figures, including Rajnath Singh, Yogi Adityanath, and Javed Akhtar, to post tributes before the family clarified that the actor was alive and recovering.
