Mumbai witnessed its hottest day of 2021 so far on Thursday March 5 with the temperature hitting 38.1°, 5° above normal. According to IMD Officials, dry winds coming from an anti-cyclonic circulation over central India are the cause of the rising temperatures. Should the city record temperature above 5° normal for a second day, a heat wave might be announced in the city.
