On wheelchair, Mamata Banerjee conducted a rally in Kolkata to mark Nandigram Divas. This was her first public appearance since the injury at Nandigram, where she went to file nomination.

In Nandigram, Mamata’s principal opponent is Suvendu Adhikari, who joined BJP last year. He was earlier a TMC Minster of Transport for the state.
While addressing the rally in Kolkata, she said, "remember, the injured tiger is more dangerous than the dead one."
Mamata Banerjee was injured when she was at Nandigram on March 10, 2021 to file her nomination. She alleged that 4 to 5 people attacked her.
Nandigram had been a no-go area for authorities for two months as villagers have been protesting against the establishment over the SEZ there in 2007. Following which the police firing incident happened the same year.
