56.5 lakh doses of COVID19 vaccines were packed to be transported to parts of Maharashtra from Serum Institute in Pune for the first phase of the inoculation drive.

Covishield vaccines need to be stored at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C, hence the need for temperature controlled trucks.
The vaccine doses are being stored at a facility in F-South ward office situated in Parel, reported Mumbai's civic body, BMC.
COVID19 vaccines will be then distributed across 72 inoculation centres across Mumbai.

1.3 lakh health workers have registered to be inoculated in the first phase which will begin on 16th January.
