Chaos erupted inside the Bihar assembly as police were called to evict opposition members as they protested against the passing of a new Bill. RJD and CPIM(M) member were dragged oustide the premises where they alleged that they were beaten by BJP and JDU MLAs. The Bihar Special Armed Police Bill, 2021 was passed late in the evening by the Nitish Kumar government which stated that it was necessary to improve security in the state. The bill was passed after the opposition had staged a walkout. The new bill will empower the Special Armed Police to conduct searches and arrests without producing a warrant.
