David Frawley (also known by his Hindu name Vamdeva Shastri) has spent 40 years studying and writing about Hindu scriptures, philosophies, metaphysics and traditions. In 2015, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his work on Hinduism.
In his interview, Frawley talks about why modern Hinduism often feels caught up with old prejudices and debates and what it can do to evolve beyond the sectarian debates. He also talks about how Hinduism relates to science - in ways different from other religions - and how the embrace of science has influenced many Hindu ideas, from the decimal system to the Pythagoras Theorem.
